Hello!
My name is Brittany Scarlett and I am an Illustrator and Graphic Designer! I studied Graphic Design at Loyola University of New Orleans and developed my skills as a designer and as a professional person. I always try to use some from of illustration in all of my design work because it's what I enjoy the most and what I'm most skilled at. My daily tools include my laptop, my Wacom Intuos Pro drawing tablet, Photoshop, Paint Tool Sai, and Adobe Illustrator and sometimes Adobe InDesign. My inspirations are nature, landscapes, animals, the Earth and space as a whole. I've always loved the outdoors, being outside and I've always had an animal companion by my side since I a kid. Protecting the Earth, its beauty, its creatures and its resources are extremely important to me, thus much of my work stems from these beliefs. Fantasy, myth and the surreal influence my work, too. I love creating unreal, fantastical worlds of my own, and filling them with creative creatures of my own, and creating visual narratives of my own. Story telling and narrative inspires me almost as much as nature does, so I keep both in mind when I illustrate and design. Of course, I couldn't create the unreal without any influence or reference from the real, so nature will always be my biggest inspiration, even in my fictional work. Currently, I am working as a freelance illustrator and designer! I've created work for the New Orleans Arts Education Association (NOAEA) and for KID smART. I've worked at Loyola University New Orleans's 2017 Summer Design Camp as a TA and Camp Counselor, helping high school aged students learn about what graphic design is and how to use it. I've also interned with Maggie Covert at WalkingMan Studios. I owe most of my experience and skill to Loyola University and the amazing people I have worked with thus far, and I look forward to working with and meeting more amazing people. |
